FSK rassismuskritisch gestalten

Dear colleagues, friends, activists, comrades and the public.
We are inviting you all to a critical empowerment workshop at FSK Radio Hamburg.

The workshop is open to the public. But we are sending a special invites to colleagues at Fsk Radio, collectives at Gängeviertel, and most especially to un-white People engaged or hoping to engage in producing radio, arts and social activism, who can’t find a non-toxic environment or space, to develop/ continue their work … It is also open to white citizens, who are committed to making FSK Radio/ Gängeviertel and other working places a more diversified, cohesive and welcoming space for non-white citizens.
Dates: the 17th and the 18th of June. Participants are not mandated to participate in all the hours of the workshop. You can join both days or for one day and a few hours.

Aim of workshop
Our aim in the critical empowerment workshop is to simply find a safe space to critically articulate and learn together, to empower each other and demonstrate the possibilities of real solidarities in workplaces, activist groups and the society at large. Our aim is to continue raising awareness and address the historical systemic racial exclusion of minorities in the Western media and other workplaces, while also improving each other’s abilities to be critical. The workshops focus would be on Radio production, articulating and addressing issues of systematic racism and the inequalities it creates at workplaces for minorities. We would share our experiences and a few solutions to these versus issues.

14:30 presentation and input on Systematic hierarchies and knowledge exploitation at workplaces, by Petros Byansi (#Bino) and Stanley Ukachukwu Nwaogu (#steve)

15:00 open discussions with participants.
we will play the simple game of listening to each other in a round discussion with participants on the topics mentioned above.
The game would be both conducted and improvised, depending on our participants on the day. Each participant’s views/ point’s on each topic would be noted during the discussions.

After each participant’s views/ point’s, we would empower each other on how to articulate one’s views/ points out in the media, workplaces and the society at large.Participants who intend to make Radio’s, being a good public speakers. Who intend to or can attend the day 2 workshop. Would be given a little practical homework of practicing their point/ views that was noted during the earlier discussions.
The workshop for the day would end with finding a few solutions to real solidarity, on how to work together.

Speaker:- Tania Mancheno,political scientist, an independent critical researcher and a lecturer at the Department of Geography, at the University of Hamburg. She teaches on critical space theory, conceptual history and urban multiculturalism.

Artist:- Mira Zounogo A singer and songwriter from Kiel. Compared to the rest of the world, her songs are rather quiet and create a calm, dreamy atmosphere. She finds her inspiration in nature and lets the moods flow into her music. But at the same time, the lyrics draw attention to important social issues.

“In diesem Schreibworkshop möchten wir uns mit Strategien zur
Bewältigung von rassistischen Situationen beschäftigen. Wie kann ich
als Betroffene so reagieren, dass ich selbst zufrieden mit meiner
Reaktion sein kann? Wie kann mich in meiner Reaktion nicht allzu
verausgaben?

Gemeinsam werden wir die Muster, mit denen wir auf rassistische
Situationen reagieren, reflektieren und herausfinden, was für andere
Möglichkeiten es noch gibt.

Gleichzeitig werden wir uns auch darüber austauschen, wie uns unsere
Rassismus-Erfahrungen im guten- und im schlechten – geprägt haben.

Mithilfe von Methoden des kreativen Schreibens und der politischen
Bildungsarbeit, sowie auch gemeinsamen Austauschrunden möchten wir
uns diesem Thema in einem sicherer(en) Rahmen nähern. Das Vorlesen
der Texte ist in allen Austauschrunden freiwillig. Als
Teilnehmer*innen braucht ihr keine Vorkenntnisse im Schreiben, sondern
nur Stift und Papier.

Wer ist eure Workshopleiterin?

Limo ist 24 Jahre alt und kommt aus Hamburg. Seit zwei Jahren
arbeitet sie als Schreibbegleiterin für kreativ-heilsames Schreiben und als
Diversitätstrainerin. Im März diesen Jahres schloss sie ihre
Weiterbildung zur Schreibtherapeutin ab. Neben dem Schreiben ist sie
Diversitätstrainerin mit dem Fokus auf rassismuskritische und
feministische Arbeit.

• Der Workshop ist offen für alle, die Rassismus-Erfahrungen machen
  oder gemacht haben
• Der Workshop wird auf Deutsch stattfinden, ich kann aber auch die
  Schreibübungen auf Englisch formulieren. Je nachdem, wer alles da
  ist, kann der Austausch auch auf Englisch stattfinden.

“In this writing workshop we would like to deal with strategies for dealing
with racist situations. How can I, as the person affected, react in such a
way that I can be satisfied with my reaction myself? How can I not overexert
myself in my reaction?

Together we will reflect on the patterns with which we react to racist
situations and find out what other possibilities there are.

At the same time, we will also exchange views on how our experiences of
racism have shaped us, for better or for worse.

With the help of methods of creative writing and political education work,
as well as joint exchange rounds, we would like to approach this topic in
a safe(r) framework. Reading the texts is voluntary in all exchange rounds.
As a participant, you do not need any previous knowledge of writing, just
pen and paper.

Who is your workshop leader? Limo is 24 years old and comes from
Hamburg. For two years she has been working as a writing companion
for creative-healing writing and as a diversity trainer. In March of this
year she completed her further training as a writing therapist. In
addition to writing, she is a diversity trainer with a focus on anti-racism
and feminist work.

The workshop is open to anyone who has or has experienced racism
The workshop will be held in German, but the writing exercises can
also be held in English. The exchange can also take place in English.

FSK rassismuskritisch gestalten

Im März beginnt im FSK der Prozess „FSK rassismuskritisch gestalten“. Mit Workshops und Veranstaltungen von BIPoC-Radiomachenden und Expert*innen der rassismuskritischen Bildungsarbeit wollen wir Sensibilität schaffen, Zugänge öffnen, Empowerment Räume ermöglichen und Barrieren abbauen. Denn das FSK hat zwar den Anspruch,

„Ort zu sein, an dem Betroffene von Unterdrückung, Ausbeutung und Diskriminierung selbst produzieren“,

wird diesem Anspruch aber was Rassismus (und anderen Diskriminierungsformen) angeht, viel zu selten gerecht. In einer rassistischen Gesellschaft, die uns alle prägt, kommt es natürlich auch in linken, selbstorganisierten Zusammenhängen wie dem FSK zu rassistischen Vorfällen und Strukturen. Mit der Veranstaltungsreihe wollen wir kollektiv anfangen, diese Verhältnisse zu verändern, die Vielfalt, die in unserem Sender schon besteht, stärken und mehr Menschen dazu ermutigen, Teil des FSK zu werden.

In March, FSK will begin the process of “making the FSK critical of racism”. With workshops and events by BIPoC radio producers and experts in racism-critical educational work, we want to create sensitivity, open access, enable empowerment spaces and break down barriers. Because FSK claims,

“To be a place where those affected by oppression, exploitation and discrimination produce themselves”,

but it rarely lives up to this claim when it comes to racism (and other forms of discrimination). In a racist society that shapes us all, racist incidents and structures naturally also occur in left-wing, self-organized contexts like the FSK. With this series of events we want to collectively start to change these conditions, strengthen the diversity that already exists in our station and encourage more people to become part of the FSK.

➢ Produce joint programmes during and after the workshop.
